JACKSON, Miss – Candidates should be reminded of the upcoming qualifying deadline of February 1, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. 

The 2023 Election includes statewide offices, state district offices, county offices, and county district offices. 

Candidates may access the Secretary of State's official 2023 Candidate Qualifying Guide which provides essential information for those seeking elected office. They should familiarize themselves with the legal qualifications required to seek and hold office, as well as the qualifying procedures. 

The deadline for 2022 annual campaign finance reports is January 31, 2023. All candidates for statewide and state districts are required to file their reports with the Secretary of State’s Office. The 2023 Elections dates are scheduled for:

• Primary Election Day - Tuesday, August 8, 2023Primary Runoff Election Day - Tuesday, August 29, 2023
• General/Special Election Day - Tuesday, November 7, 2023
