We’ve received several complaints over the last few days regarding the conduct of a party election official, possibly calling into question the impartial application of election laws. Although our office has no enforcement authority, we’ve addressed the issue and want to remind all party officials of the importance of remaining impartial throughout the election process if playing a role in the conduction of the election.

Impartial election officials, whether state or local, are the keystones in maintaining fair & secure elections and continuing voter confidence in Mississippi’s election system. As we near Election Day, our office will continue to review and assess all election issues reported to our office or Elections Hotline.
